English Student Teacher Screening
In the spring semester during the first-year of the Secondary Education program, English-SELA students must complete the English student teacher screening process. Screening has two main parts: first, the candidate submits a written screening portfolio to the English Education Committee; second, the the candidate meets with the committee for a 30-minute interview. Screening is preceded by two mandatory meetings, typically, one scheduled at the end of the semester prior to screening and another at the beginning of the screening semester.
Teacher candidates who think that they are ready to screen (or have questions about screening) should email the screening director, Heather GS Johnson, to register for screening (please include your full name and student ID number).
